January is a time for reflection, resolutions and moving forward, and here at Red Diamond Executive Headhunters we’re doing exactly that.
You see, 2018 was an exceptional year for us. We expanded our team, moved into our fabulous new premises and celebrated with a festive launch party. We also expanded our client base – good news travels fast, I suppose – and we received some outstanding feedback from clients old and new.
But that’s not all. We got on top of our social media messaging so that our Twitter and LinkedIn platforms do exactly what we need them to do: keep us visible, communicate key messages and celebrate our success. We’ve also worked hard to ensure this online communication is consistent and coherent so that clients and candidates – both potential and established – can get a real insight to Red Diamond’s philosophy and values.
After so much progress in 2018 it could be tempting to rest on our laurels for a while, but what can we say? That’s simply not the Red Diamond way. Our business plan is in place and on schedule: 2019 will see us expand further, both in terms of team members and office bases. There’s a lot we want to achieve in the next 12 months, for ourselves and for our clients.
So today’s post is about reflections – specifically, reflections on the corporate values we feel have brought us to where we are right now – and resolutions – i.e. those things we promise you as a Red Diamond client, candidate or one of our own employees.
There’s no silver bullet when it comes to executive search, but after 30+ years of combined industry experience we feel confident we’ve found a way of working that works for us, treats candidates with respect and delivers results for our clients. We expect a lot from our staff. Red Diamond is not for the work-shy. We’re 100% committed to our clients and when we’re working on a brief we’re dedicated to not only meeting but exceeding their expectations. We’re proud of our reputation for leaving no stone unturned and long days and late nights are an inevitable part of the process, especially when deadlines are looming.
However, we believe in flexible working. Because we’re passionate about people, we want everyone to gain. Working for Red Diamond you can expect rewards, both financial and in terms of flexibility; we won’t ever ask you to miss your child’s nativity play or drive to work in terrible weather, for example. A gym break in the middle of the working day isn’t a special treat; it’s the pay-off for an early start or pulling a late one. We know that autonomy is the greatest professional incentive we can offer – plus, because our own recruitment process is so rigorous, we know that we have top-notch staff who we can trust to deliver.
We invest in quality. We invest in the same systems, the same training and use the same consultants as major US headhunter brands. All of our headhunters are degree-educated and have worked for major PLCs. Like PLCs, we know what good looks like, have rigorous standards and a tireless work ethic, but unlike PLCs, we have the freedom and autonomy to be nimble. Here’s to more of this in 2019!
We go further. We don’t have a ‘one size fits all’ approach at Red Diamond: our strategy varies from brief to brief. Need an accelerated process? No problem. Working on a different time zone? We can accommodate. At Red Diamond, we work to really understand your company and the kind of people who will be able to take it to the next level. With us, bespoke will continue to come as standard.
We pay it forward. At Red Diamond, we’re committed to supporting two charities very close to our hearts: the Sick Children’s Trust and Leeds Teaching Hospital Charitable Foundation. In the last couple of months, our partner Simon ran 60k in November to raise money and awareness to help prevent male suicide and we collected Christmas presents for the elderly in West Yorkshire. Supporting charities is more than just an empty corporate gesture for us – we do it because we want to give something back.
