Financial Controller

We are looking for a Financial Controller for a dynamic, growing chemicals business that will be responsible for ensuring robust financial management, supporting business strategy, and maintaining compliance in a complex and fast-paced environment. This role is pivotal in driving financial performance, optimizing costs, and supporting sustainable growth.

• Lead financial controlling activities for entities in the UK and the European site, ensuring compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, and local regulations.
• Prepare and review management accounts, financial statements, and variance analyses on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Partner with operational teams and finance colleagues globally to enhance business insight and decision-making.
• Implement best practices, process standardisation, and automation initiatives across regional finance functions.
• Coordinate external audits and maintain effective relationships with auditors and tax consultants.
• Oversee regional budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Ensure adherence to local tax and regulatory frameworks.
• Contribute to financial modelling, project support, and evaluation of new business opportunities.

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong background in technical accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience within a manufacturing or chemicals environment is an advantage.
• Comfortable operating across borders and in matrixed, multinational organisations.
• Advanced proficiency in financial systems and Excel; ERP experience essential (SAP or Oracle a plus).
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
